St James’ Primary School
Kotara, NSW (2009)
What better way to signal to children that school is about discovery, adventure and learning than to have the main administration building invite you to do just that.
The tower proclaims the entry and centre of the school while the serpentine tail with its juxtaposed framed eyes, trails off to provide a type of mute surveillance of the playing fields.
Flooding is an issue on the site, so it’s shoes off — even for the columns!
